KAREN CHARMOILLE
France born, Karen was always interested in creating Art as a hobby. When she moved to Singapore in 2005, She decided to take profit of this new life to explore oil painting; she loved it and decided to start a new career.Karen is an energetic and joyful lady, the paintings are like her, dynamic and expressive. She likes to collect ideas from her various trips, starting from one of her impressions, playing with her subject’s forms, focusingon a detail and opposition of colors.
She likes discovering new cultures, new people, new tastes and smells, which is something she probably kept from her former job! One of her enjoyments is to capture the serenity of ever-changing nature landscapes and also the light of cities on canvas, to render the sensibility, the colors and delicacy of what she observes. With time her work evolves to more and more vibrant, abstract and colorful pieces.
She works primarily on shades, nuances, texture, shapes and material effects and contrasts. Then she explores light and colours. She is a kind of painter/poet, enticing and expressing herself through her brushes and knives. The purpose of her paintings is transmitting the sheer pleasure of life, with her vitality she expresses her thoughts and dreams. She has apassion that you immediately feel in her
